The Retail Research Group is based in the University of Surrey’s School of Management and conducts research into strategic and operational management and planning and policy issues relating to retailing and consumption.
In addition to academic teaching and research the group are also actively involved with industry and practitioners via a number of links which include consultancy projects, executive classes, speaking at industry conferences and events and supplying media commentary.

Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught Programmes

The School of Management offers a BSc (Hons) Retail Management degree programme for undergraduate students. The programme is three years in length with the option of an additional professional placement year working in the industry at the end of the second year and extending the degree to a four year programme. A one year MSc Retail Management programme is also offered for students wishing to continue their Retail Management studies at a postgraduate level. Full details of this and the other MSc programmes offered by the School are available here.
Two recent additions to the Retail programmes offered by the School are the MBA Retail (subject to validation) and the MSc in International Retail Marketing. Both of these programmes are designed to reflect the demand for highly qualified managers from a rapidly internationalising retail sector and one in which the competitive significance of advanced retail marketing practices is increasingly acknowledged.
